KATHRYN McKNIGHT - BIOGRAPHY

Kathy is a certified group fitness coach, nutrition coach, wellness coach, and professional coach. She believes her ultimate purpose is to help people find true happiness and fulfillment in life through positive solutions and a healthy lifestyle.
And, so, as the year 2017 began, she decided it was time to follow her purpose and dream. She started a coaching practice and left her sales career with a simple business plan and lots of courage.
Unlike the usual story you get to hear of a person being born in a small town in a far-off state and moving to a cosmopolitan to seek their calling, Kathy was born in Queens, New York, and grew up in Brandon, Florida. She went to Brandon Senior High for her high school diploma. She then studied marketing, law, psychology, and sales in University of Tampa during her Bachelor of Science in Marketing. There she joined the Delta Zeta and SAE Little Sister sororities and became a cheerleader. It took 2 years and changing a major 3 times in college to realize the rewards of being a sales professional were many. When she graduated, she had three offers waiting for her. She chose working for Pitney Bowes Inc, where she stayed in business development and contracts negotiation for the next five years.
Next, Kathy took a Sales Representative role at GTE Mobilnet and stuck around for over a year and a half, selling phone accessories and cold calling for B2B sales and contracts, before she took on a permanent spot at Automated Petroleum & Energy Co. Kathy didn’t let APEC go just as APEC wouldn’t let her go.
Over many years together, she has the opportunity to learn more about relationship management than she ever did before. As a person who has always enjoyed helping people find happiness, she has established customer satisfaction as the defining element of her success. Kathy will go out of her way to find solutions for her clients that they wouldn’t get anywhere else, and this is why some of those clients have since stayed in touch with Kathy.
Over the years, Kathy has had the opportunity to exercise self-discovery (Kathy takes pride in being a spiritual person, who was brought up in a Catholic household). This journey to discover herself has only brought her closer to the belief that having a connection with God makes her stronger. Kathy's belief is "If we aren't spiritually fit, we can't use our potential to heal ourselves or others."
This spirituality has guided her through a number of challenges in her life. She knows it has made her the independent, self-confident, and happy person that she is now. It has also helped her develop professionally and find her true calling in helping others with their struggles in life.
Kathy found out years ago she wanted to do more with her life than be a great sales manager and, as personal coaching became popular, she realized coaching is the ideal profession for her. She has always been able to build a rapport with people and, more than that, truly understand what they really wanted. Kathy can sense what is wrong in a person’s story.
Due to such empathy in Kathy's listening, and her ability to see beyond noise and find the most important bits of information, she has always been able to help people see the actual problem they were up against. Friends and family were already taking advice from her, when she decided to become a professional coach.
Being an organized person, Kathy approached this idea with authentic education and recognized training. In time, she earned recognition as a life coach, a professional coach, a wellness coach, recovery coach and a group fitness coach, and she is now qualified to help clients in all these areas.
Kathy believes in walking the talk. As a fitness and wellness coach, she practices a unique, but very healthy, lifestyle. She eats 6 meals a day, exercises every day, stays happy, and makes sure her body gets proper rest every night.
As a person who believes in personal strength and forgiveness, Kathy has come out of challenges in her life stronger than ever. She believes we can’t blame others for our trials, and we cannot grow unless we look past the blame and take responsibility.
This is a unique personal quality that makes her a remarkably good coach and a disciplined person. It also makes the foundation of her coaching philosophy. Kathy strongly believes her clients can turn their lives around by following this philosophy, too. This is why, when it came to naming her practice, she chose Accountable Actions over other angles to her brand.
By using this philosophy, Kathy has helped her clients become better versions of themselves by achieving their goals. One of Kathy's clients has adapted to her techniques and is now trying out a more adjusted attitude with her business team, feeling more confident in her meetings. Another one of her clients kept failing at her fitness goals and her coaching helped her in meeting her set weight limits.
Kathy is full of life and appreciate being alive every day. You’ll often find her on the beach, or listening to live music and dancing to it if there’s enough room, watching movies, or taking part in fitness competitions. In moments of solitude, she prefers the company of a good book (Kathy hopes to write one soon).
Kathy lives in Riverview, Florida, and tries to spend all her free time with her three children, whom she absolutely dotes on.
On a regular day, Kathy begins with a workout, participates with her spiritual program, works with her clients, and takes her kids to school, extracurricular activities and games. On Sundays, she almost never misses Church. she volunteers for social causes whenever she can.
