Dr. janet polach - BIOGRAPHY

As a retired Marine officer, Janet knows a thing or two about what it takes to be a great leader. Realizing that leaders are often too busy running their business to pay attention to employees, and then witnessing the subsequent high staff turnover, she helps organizations become clear about what effective leadership really looks like, and what practices to implement in order to increase purpose and profit.

After receiving her PhD in organizational development and following her work with a global consulting firm in China, she launched her own consulting practice, helping hundreds of companies across the globe including major brands and government contractors. Her identity incudes a no-nonsense but lighthearted approach, which creates transformational results for even the most struggling of leaders.

Global leader in executive coaching, team, and leadership development; strategist and counsel to senior executives. Dr. Polach has coached dozens of c-suite and senior leader executives in the U.S., China, Korea, Hong Kong, Singapore, Puerto Rico, Ireland, the Netherlands, and Switzerland. She has helped multiple cross-geography teams find their core purpose and a focus for team and organizational success. She asks thoughtful questions, summarizes what she hears, and allows silence for reflection. Dr. Polach is a retired U.S. Marine Corps officer.

Janet has built and delivered leadership development programs across the world for mid-level to executive leaders. She has conducted dozens of executive assessments for both selection and development. She builds small group coaching experiences into every program to ensure content and new practices are put into daily practice and lead to lasting change.

Whether you are a manager of many, or a team leader of a few, being a leader requires letting go of the day-to-day tasks you did so well and encouraging production and success through others. Managers are promoted because they are outstanding contributors. Yet, these characteristics are not necessarily the same ones that make successful frontline managers. Because organizations invest little in new manager development, new managers are left to guess at what effective leaders do, pressing forward through trial and error. The 7 Mistakes New Managers Make examines the most common mistakes new managers make. Each chapter highlights a common challenge and then describes strategies and behaviors to build the skills needed to avoid mistakes and achieve success.
