amir stpehen- BIOGRAPHY

I’m Amir Stephen and currently reside in Centennial Colorado. I have 30 years+ years of combined law enforcement experience and currently serve as a Reserve Deputy Sheriff in Monroe County. My passion has been focused on the cause of crime as well as violence prevention and appropriate responses. By using techniques such as Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED), I have placed my focus on target hardening of buildings as well as reviewing or creating crisis response plans.

Currently, I consult, instruct, and coach a verbal de-escalation class in a nationally recognized program called CIT (Crisis Intervention Training). During my law enforcement career, I was the Hostage Negotiation Team leader and am able to utilize many of these skills in my verbal de-escalation classes.

Another passion of mine is the martial arts. Since 2012, I have owned 2 non-profit Brazilian Jiu-jitsu Gyms. These gyms are designed to not only host a general membership but also target at-risk youth in our community. My goal is to empower youth within this program through the discipline of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Mixed Martial Arts. One of our most requested programs is Women's Self Defense, which is hosted by schools, corporations, and individual families.



I have been a high school basketball coach for over 23 years and love the connection I receive working with these talented kids.
